Village Green at Elysian Heights is a community of single-family and townhomes nestled amid horse farms and wineries and surrounded by views of both Catoctin Mountain and Sugarloaf Mountain. It is located a few minutes north of the town limits of Leesburg in the Lucketts area. The community amenities include a clubhouse, walking trails, swimming pool, tennis courts and tot lot.
The first homes of the community were built in 2006, and single family homes are still being built in the community today. The community has a neo-traditional feel with open green spaces for community enjoyment. Many homes have front porches, and while most of the single family homes have attached garages in the front of the homes, some sections have detached rear garages accessed by alley ways in the back of the homes. Both single family and townhomes here have a very traditional interior design and offer luxury finishes, and single family homes sit on lots of 1/3 to 1/2 of an acre.
The original single family homes were larger in scale, with some homes being in excess of 4,000 square feet, plus a basement, and originally sold in the $700-900,000 range. The homes being built today are smaller, with plans starting at as little as 2300 square feet (plus basement), with base prices in the low to mid $400,000s.
Close to the Virginia/Maryland state line, Village Green is an easy five-mile drive from the Point of Rocks MARC station, expanding the commuting options for residents of this community. White’s Ferry, another commuter alternative for this neighborhood, crosses the Potomac only six miles away.
Recreation options abound in the surrounding area. The hamlet of Lucketts and its community center is a hub of activity, including a preschool, the Lucketts Fair, and regular bluegrass performances. Several notable wineries are within a few miles of Village Green, including Tarara and its summer concert series and Lost Creek with its shady patio. The C&O Canal National Historic Park, a popular hiking and cycling path, is less than five miles from the neighborhood, and the access point there also has a public boat launch on the Potomac River. Antique and vintage shoppers will love Village Green’s proximity to the Old Lucketts Store and a few other nearby shops.
The conveniences of Leesburg, including shopping and services, are a short drive away via Route 15 south. Locavores will be delighted that Route 15 between Village Green and the Town of Leesburg is dotted with farmstands. Frederick, MD is an alternate nearby destination for shopping and services.
Homes here are served by NOVEC (Electric), Valley Energy (most houses operate on leased propane tanks buried in the backyards), and the community water system is operated by Loudoun Water. You can learn more about the community water system HERE. And telecomuters will delight to hear high speed internet is available through Comcast or Verizon (FiOs).
